History

PT Perta-Samtan Gas was established under the name of PT E1-Pertagas by PT Pertamina Gas with ownership of 66%, and E1 Corporation, a limited company from South Korea, with ownership of 34%. Establishment of the company begins with the signing of the Joint Liquid Business Agreement (JLBA) between PT Pertamina (Persero) and E1 Corporation in August 2006, and the Shareholders Agreement (SHA) between PT Pertamina Gas and E1 Corporation in South Korea witnessed by the President of Republic of Indonesia in July 2007.

 

The Company was founded on May 7, 2008 with the goal to produce LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) in order to support the government in providing energy for the community, while reducing the load of government subsidies.

 

In August 2010, E1 Corporation transferred all their share ownership to Samtan Co., Ltd. Korea, a limited company of South Korea. Furthermore, as the realization of the transfer of shares, on January 28, 2011 Company’s name changes from PT E1-Pertagas to become PT Perta-Samtan Gas.

 

PT Perta-Samtan Gas setting up an NGL Refinery Plant consisting of Extraction Plant in Prabumulih and Fractionation Plant in Sungai Gerong, with design capacity of 250 MMSCFD. Construction of refinery (EPC and Commissioning) conducted by PT Tripatra Engineers & Constructors (TPEC) from July 2010 until April 2013. The project was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on December 6, 2012.

 

The period of pre-commissioning and commissioning was implemented in December 2012 to April 2013 which resulted in the production of 12,166 MT of LPG and Condensate amounted to 54,847 bbl. PT Perta-Samtan Gas commenced commercial operation for the first time on May 1, 2013.

 

The current content of LPG in the feed gas is 3.1% mol C3 and 1.45% mol C4 compared to the initial design (3.39% mol C3 and 1.48% mol C4). The maximum capacity of the refinery of PT Perta-Samtan Gas is currently producing only 500-540 MT/day meaning it is still operating at 75% of the design capacity.

 

Since the start of commercial operation on May 1, 2013 until December 31, 2016, PT Perta-Samtan refinery has produced 657,425 MT of LPG and handling Condensate of 2,159,850 bbl. LPG Sales to PT Pertamina (Persero) amounted to of Condensate 658,181 MT and Condensate delivery to PT Pertamina Gas amounted to 2,170,405 bbl.

2010

By PT Pertamina Gas permission, E1 Corporation transferred its shares to Samtan Co., Ltd. NGL Plant Development in South Sumatra implemented by EPCC contractor, PT Tripatra Engineers & Constructors in July 2010.

2011

Amendment the Company’s name change from PT E1-Pertagas on to be PT Perta-Samtan Gas on January 28, 2011.

Inauguration of Refinery NGL Plant in South Sumatra on December 6, 2012 by President of the republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

2013

PSG’s refinery entered the commercial phase began on May 1, 2013.

Succeed to manage the delivery of 100,000 Metric Tonnes of LPG for domestic gas purposes (South Sumatra) via pipeline.

2015

Achieved a Blue Proper for Extraction Plant and Fractionation Plant. Until December 31, 2015, PT Perta-Samtan Gas managed to produce LPG up to 485.877 Mton and Condensate 1,594,218 bbls.

Safe man Hours Award achieving 9,674,272 hours of safe man hours from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources category PATRA NIRBHAYA KARYA MADYA on August 23, 2016. Succeed on HSSE Internal Assessment based protocol ISRS Series 8 achieving level 6. Successfully Achieved Blue Proper for Extraction and Fractionation Plants.

Relocation of Head Office from Jakarta to Sungai Gerong was conducted.
